Drown With Me 🎵 (League of Legends song – Pyke)

What started off as a simple sea shanty turned into …so much more. It was probably at the point where I wanted to “submerge” the listener during the chorus that I knew that I needed to extend the genre boundaries to…whatever this is xD
BIG shoutout to all the people who helped me with this. It was a massive project with 100+ voice layers, live strings and percussion and tons of sound design.

Lyrics:
Born n’ raised on the slaughter docks
Woo–ee-ohm!
Scraping by into blood and guts
Woo–ee-ohm!
Sails and spirits all set high
Woo–ee-ohm!
One fateful day, at Serpent’s Isle
Woo–ee-ohm!
Prove your worth and make the cut

Terror cleaving the azure green
Woo–ee-ohm!
Biggest jaull-fish I’ve ever seen
Woo–ee-ohm!
I dared into the maw of dread
But the captain cut the rope and fled
Alive or dead or in-between
Woo–ee-ohm!

Take the plunge, I bring the hook
I can’t forget, the way you looked
The broken trust, the life you took
I cross the list, it’s like a book

Got this fire, a drive in me
A place for you, below the sea
Blood and salt, the ocean seeks
to take you drown with me

Towering fangs are surrounding me
Woo–ee-ohm!
Breathe in the water, invite the sea
Woo–ee-ohm!
I was played out a sacrifice
But for every crime, they pay the price

I decide what your fate will be
Woo–ee-ohm!

Take the plunge, I bring the hook
I can’t forget, the way you looked
The broken trust, the life you took
I cross the list, it’s like a book

Got this fire, a drive in me
A place for you, below the sea
Blood and salt, the ocean seeks
to take you drown with me

Greed, theft, telling Lies

I cross the name

See the, terror, in your, eyes

I cross the name

Deep, guile, deeper, cuts

I cross the name

Open, heart, spill yer, guts

  1. Не знаю почему но мне это напомнило кат сцену из Warframe с песней We All Lift Together

  2. For those that may not have known, this song is actually the life that Pyke had and the lore behind his character. If you want to read the full version you can go to the LoL page for the champ. I will say the very short version though, and that's what makes this song kind of sad in a way, when you realize what Pyke has actually been through.

In Bilgewater, there is very much a class system based on your worth. Unfortunately for Pyke, he was poor, and therefore, worthless. To make their income, the worthless end up selling themselves to ship captains as crew for scraps each day. The only one that would accept Pyke was a captain at the Slaughter Docks, a place aptly named both because of people being torn apart there, and because of the fishery. The prize fish they all look for is a creature called the Jaull-Fish, which is a creature that possesses a kind of sac inside the mouth that produces a material that has extremely valuable effects for magic elixirs. The problem: The sac needs to be harvested from a fish that looks like a demented Angler fish crossed with a worm from Dune, while the fish is still alive, otherwise the sac will quickly lose potency for the elixir. The way it's supposed to work is the fisher goes in the mouth, tied by a rope from the ship, harvests the sac, and then gets yanked out of the water quickly before the fish eats them. Pyke's former captain saw the size of this Jaull-fish and got terrified because the fish was large enough to destroy their ship and take everyone down. Instead of that, the captain cut Pyke off the rope and left him to fend for himself so the rest of the ship could escape. Subsequently, Pyke was eaten by the fish, and somehow, perhaps by being exposed to the pure material of that sac, perhaps fueled entirely by vengeance, he "survived".

  3. I honestly didn't know this was for a lol character when I heard it on Spotify (I don't play). It's still awesome as the story of a whaler who went overboard, then saw his captain cut his lifeline instead of hauling him up, leaving him to draw off an angry whale. Only for him to return as a vengeful spirit, killing the crew off one by one

  4. man why do you have some of the best production in videogame fan music? Not just this, but all your shit recently is so clean production wise.

  5. my OCD is kicking in when I see that the official lyrics in description are different than the one in video and even than the song itself
