World of Warcraft Classic First Impressions

For almost a year now I’ve been completely unimpressed by World of Warcraft Classic. Why would I go back and play something I played 15 years ago? Well I finally sat down to play with friends, and this was my reaction.

The drums of war thunder once again… Return to a lost era the Battle for Azeroth and experience the timeless stories that defined this world at war. World of Warcraft Classic is a faithful recreation of the original World of Warcraft—it runs a bit smoother on today’s computers, but the game still looks and feels like you’re playing World of Warcraft from 2006. Combat mechanics, original character models and skill trees all contribute to a truly authentic experience, as do your interactions with other players. Your reliance on others to take on the world was at the heart of the original WoW and is at the heart of World of Warcraft Classic.Experience the game as it was before the release of any of its expansion sets, and journey back to its beginnings.

  1. " It's how they are still the number 1 mmo rpg "
X to Doubt. I think they have managed to reclaim a high point I don't think they even believe they are on top anymore.

  2. I played wow from BC till Pandaria. I went back to playing and joined retail, my head hurted after an hour playing. The dungeons where chaos runs and after two hours playing I was already lvl 30. It was way to easy. I tried classic and fell in love. The game is a much slower pace and more chill. I love the difficulty of the quests.

  3. Well, I totally do agree with the UI part and some of the other optimizations, but WoW really hasnt gone better overall. Like some good classic food your parents made to casual fast McMeal with no particular flavour. Eg "Timmy plays few days, Timmy gets same gear as Johnny and James who have been working for it last couple of months" or that you can do sooooo many things solo. Too many, in fact. Group mates come, they go, meh yolo. Just press a few buttons. 2-3 max. Every class can do everything, meh, yolo. Its not fun. Just my opinion and I problably have no life and my mother was a hamster and I'm a noob and so on 🙂

  4. I wasn’t very good at video games when this was released and never reached endgame. It’s like getting a second chance to experience everything that was replaced before I could attain itZ

  5. You get chain heal by the end I think. it just wasn't very good in Vanilla, which is why they made it so OP for TBC. Anyway, of course you were going to like it. WoW since wrath has been a solo game, WoW on launch was a multiplayer game. Playing with the same people over time was why people liked these sorts of games to begin with, and it's just gone from retail.

  6. I started playing wow when it already was the burning crusade. And quit when it turned into the lich king. Then played again when pandaria came out and havent played since then. Im 25 yrs old now and just dont have the time to invest in wow. I also used to play with irl friends that dont play anymore wich makes it less attractive to go back.

  7. i stopped playing at the wrath of the lich king. got back during draernor, left again, the community was not the same as far as I was concerned. don't think I will come back for this either, they've squeezed their lemon a little too much.

  8. Yeah, no. My thoughts about classic stays the same. It's for people with enough time to play more than an hour a day. I'm far too busy for that and prefer more casual gameplay.

  9. Is there still a max of debuffs so some classes cant use their spells/poisons on raidbosses and stuff or is that also a thing they have modernized? It was something like that. Shut up, i'm old.

  10. ROFL so 15 years later and WOW's biggest and best idea is to once again just copy what Everquest is doing and make a progressive/classic server? Really?
