EA as a publisher absolutely only cares about HUT online and the microtransactions money that it brings. But I agree the developers probably put their heart into these games. Just saying you will never again, in your life, see an EA sports game with out the primary online function being totally dictated by some sort of real money card pack system.
I'm never buying NHL again. Its garbage!
Awesome video
Ea in the Facebook comments sounds like assholes no wonder people hate nhl
I wonder how many people making these comments have ever played ice hockey in their life. I grew up playing hockey, I never went higher than playing competitively in school. The point is, I have been playing every hockey video game from Blades of Steele to Gretzky's 3v3 with a good sence of what the real life version is like. I appreciate the changes in the game from year to year, and it is safe to say that we all have our different feelings for those changes each year. Where I get frustrated with EA in the game play is the AI. I have read many forums on the subject and feel like I am on both sides. The AI is always so inconsistent from game to game. Yes we have settings to change forchecking, clearing, offense, ect. strategies. Even in those strategies using the same sets you get a different bag of AI IQ a lot. Dmen watching the player go by standing still giving a breakaway, AI not jumping in for a puck 2 feet away from them, and we all know the list goes on and on. In OTP, the majority of the people you play with are totally clueless of positioning, strategy, and most of all TEAMWORK. We all get those randoms who pick LDRD and then for whatever reason play like a center. I was so happy when NHL 17 brought the option of the F D G choice before match making. After a few days I was back to my old emotions of disappointment with a majority of players still not playing there positions. Yes, every person has a right to play the game they paid for as they see fit good or bad. This is where I feel that EA has spent almost no time to develop a better pool of competition. We all have had games 6v6 when the moon is blue, the planets are in a line, and every player on both teams is playing positional team hockey with two great goalies. Those are the best OTPs to be in, although those lucky lotto games come few and very F'n far between. I know what you are thinking…..Join a club. Club members aren't always around and sometimes it is nice to jump in net or another position you never play. The fact is, EA has never established a system to split the rookies from the competitive. I would like to see a rating system much like in first person shooters. I know NHL is not going to have the same fan base as say Call of Duty, but there needs to be something that splits us up. Perhaps much like in Be a Pro, OTP could have a JR hockey level, AHL, and NHL. Each of us would have to build our ranks by earning XP from playing good games as well as subtracting XP for playing badly. For example, the rookie that is always being checked off the puck, not connecting passes, playing poor defense would hold them in the JR or AHL level. Not to forget about those Dmen centers, Dbags who shoot 15 times never pass, (My favorite) goalies skating around letting in tons of goals, would all be stuck in the lower rank levels until they learn more or change their habits. The coach's grading is garbage in OTP, it trains Noobs and rookies to be puck hogs giving A's to B's for some Ahole to take shots from everywhere until he scores a few. The coach's report does work well for stats on what you played well, and also where you didn't do so well. It is GARBAGE, IMO, because it doesn't matter what your grades are at the end when you still get some kind of XP no matter what. If you need XP to unlock those sick skates or those (Sarcasm) sweet circus goal celebrations, fine, keep the XP but make a separate OTP ranking system. In the FPS games, players with high ranks own a badge that shows their skill and in turn other players respect in a way. NHL 17 gives a little numbered poker chip that change with XP gained no matter how you performed with slight bonuses for body checks, goals, ect. I think a ranked system could give EA new life in NHL, as well as FIFA and Football. Anyways just a couple pennies to add to the pot, I wanted to write about so much more, but this would have been pages long (Seriously PAGES), and I don't want to give EA all my ideas until they start paying me, rather than those Geeks that have never put on skates in their life excluding birthday parties and EA work functions……..You can reach me anytime EA.
Hi
How do you have a former professional nba player as your head producer. Sean Ramjagsingh is a joke buddy and im surprised this guy isnt in jail for fraud. $90 a year for this shit and im surprised im not diabetic from how angry this stupid game makes me. You clearly have played NHL twice in your life time.
I think my biggest problem with the game is the one-touch pass bullfuck. I can't tell you how many times I was high in the D zone, and intercepted the pass, and could've had a breakaway… but no. I tossed it up into the O zone because the dick sucking, finicky-as-fuck one-touch pass hairy pussy dick fuck bullshit fucked me again. You should have to double-tap to one-touch because that leaves so much room for error.
I'm sticking with NHL 16. Who's with me?
i love see EA Sports add expansion for NHL and Madden just For 2K17 NBA
How much is EA paying this guy
True this year they put celebration
I thought NHL17 was great
I asked my dad to tell his freind to add custom team
the game is fucking horrendous. worst money I've ever spent.
I think the one thing that should be improved is the wrust shots while skating. They seem to slow
I agree man! Nice vid
Nice, way to kiss EA's collective asses. Here's a hint. If you want more than 705 subscribers, then instead of making videos kissing up to EA so that maybe they'll give you a free game every now and then, give us a real honest review. EA NHL hockey usually sucks and they hold back features in the game on purpose, so that you buy the next release hoping they give you more. Example, Tournament mode really sucks. Give me different formats, ability to switch up teams, etc… NHL 06 for the original X-Box had a great tournament mode… now on a console 2 generations later, and 11 EA NHL releases later, tournament mode is worse?!?… BY FAR. How is this even possible, unless its done on purpose. You recycle the basic code from one release to the next. Setting up the framework to work your game results into stats and different leagues/tournaments is very basic programming. What about custom leagues? I had a game for my computer in the 90s (Wayne Gretzky Hockey) and you could create custom leagues with any combination of teams, divisions, playoff formats, etc… EA isn't capable of giving us this? This game sucks and it's features are very limiting. If the turds like you gave honest scathing reviews when needed, maybe they'd give us better games.
When reviewing a game, you compare it from the previous year. Give them shit and hold them accountable for making features worse. Applaud them for making them better. When I buy NHL 17, and it's no where near the quality game that NHL 06 was… I have a problem with spending my money on products like that. I also have a problem with morons who are too stupid to be able to give a competent review on anything. If NHL 06 had a great Tournament mode and was the best in any release, then THAT becomes the standard to hold them to. I find too many of you so-called gamer critics, thumbs up games that you excel in but the games actually suck, and if you aren't good, even if the game is good, you dis it.
I find the gameplay very unrealistic in NHL 17. I will crush someone with a hit. 9 times out of 10, that player gets up and gets the puck?!? Very frustrating, especially when it happens 3 or 4 times in a row. Stamina is almost full usually, so it's not that. My player is rated a 91 now, still happens. His puck control rating is good as well, 90. Still happens all the time. Someone should explain to EA, a bodycheck in hockey, isn't necessarily to hurt the other guy, or even make him feel it really. The sole purpose of a bodycheck is to knock the man off the puck. If you can make him feel it and make him have 2nd thoughts next time, then that's just a bonus. HELLO? So when the game doesn't even reflect that aspect of a hit, then what's the use?
Also, anyone who's played hockey growing up, knows that a big part of competitive game play is tournaments. We can only use the world cup teams?!? The world cup format SUCKED, why can't I put my own teams in it? It's not hard to program different tournament modes. They won't do it, because then you might play the game for a few years, and not buy the next one. It's Bullshit. I won't be buying EA NHL any longer. NHL 06 for the original Xbox was their best release, by far. Since then, I've only been disappointed. There is ALWAYS a major part of gameplay that is way off or just wrong. There is no reason why they can't give us good gameplay AND good presentation with deep features to keep us playing.
Tbh people expect way too much when EA only has a year to produce each new game.
NHL 15 really jaded me. I dropped 80 bucks on a game that was faaar from complete. so. I sold it. in protest. and did not buy 16. I still play the live the life from NHL 14 and still have fun with it. one bad game put me off at least the next two years. and I haven't bought 17 yet either. I've played every game since 01, and bought every game since 07. until now. 15 was insulting, and as a consumer I showed EA my displeasure by not giving them more money. I've tried their forums, but you're right, it's all nastiness. the Internet is sadly not the place for intelligent reasoned conversation.
Personally I love this game! However I do have a question or two…does anyone know when the new roster update will occur (now that the season has started)? Also does this roster update just deal with the NHL or also the AHL as well?
damn people complained about nhl17? I got this a few days ago and its the best YET! Its honestly the best Sim sports game I've ever played on ice off ice not so much 2k has them beat with my gm this years madden was pretty damn great too 2k is the one who fucked up with the joke that is 2k17s ai defense NHL 17 does hockey justice I love it
This video is spot on my friend!…. Every time i look at the nhl community its all over the freaking board …. and when you said this game is the only reason i have an x box i said OMG i know right … i play on ps4 and its the only reason i have one … i have switched to PC gaming and would love to play this game at 2560 x 1440
someone is living in denial
I hate that sim shift shit I want to play the whole dam shift in be a pro like nhl 11
They don't update anything no problem gets updated in any NHL you know nothing and probably have a negative record
the skating is horrible & players are so slow! they feel to stiff on the ice
I agree this was great. Yes there are things I want (ECHL in Be a Pro/Franchise and Foreign Leagues for Franchise mode) I would love to see the USHL/NCAA D1/NAHL make their way into the game. But these guys really bust ass on the game every year. I don't buy it each year (every 2-3 usually with team changes/moves) so I do notice the improvements much greater than some ppl. I had 04 then 07 and that was a big change. I went from 07 to 09 (PS2 to PS3) and then to NHL 14 which was amazing. The gameplay in short got way more realistic. I did get NHL 17 and yes why I do feel the gameplay is similar I've noticed a difference with shooting and I feel rewarded by scoring unlike on 14. The presentation is a lot different (I prefer the PS3 commentary with Gary Thorne) but yes I see improvements. So the video is very very right we need to give real feedback and stop being whiny bitches.
When he started crying about how ea has feelings I cringed so hard omg
