now i dont have to accidentally cast Shadow Crash on the roof…. or a tree…..
One change i'd really like to see (and this is true for both Shadow and Void): Prefer dotting higher health targets/targets that will live longer.
Pulls like the tree area in Algethar Academy comes to mind. I'd much rather throw it and have it prioritize dotting the big trees and the wasps, than 1 tree and 7 small flowers (which are already half health because we have to wait for everything to stop moving). Pulls like that just feel horrible as shadow priest atm.
Speaking of Z-axis, no more accidentally placing Shadow Crash in the ceiling, or on random trees or flags if you pick Void Crash 😛
But yeah, if the target teleport out to slash a party member, (first boss in Brackenhide for instance), you might end up missing a lot of other targets.
I think it's a great choice to have though. There will probably be packs/bosses where Void Crash is just easier and more consistent, so it's nice to be able to go back and forth a bit depending on the scenario.
best part of this is seeing you and Emigosa in the same party. If that's who Im thinking about then the two of you produce my fav Shadow content
Why not make it so you can target friendly units with it too, like the old mind sear. You could pre-cast it on the tank or position yourself where the sarkareth adds spawn
Im so used to shadowcrash already but for PVP I think void crash will be the go to for me, losing my mouse in combat or just flat out misjudging the distance when I'm juggling multiple situations does make shadowcrash a little harder when doing RBGs.

Good video as usual. I think this change is a big win for shadow, and this with the 2 hero talent trees make me think shadow might have a stable dev team for once, which is even better. Although I feel bad because idk if I will be able to play the next expansion at all (have a full time job for the first time in… feels like forever, and not time enough to play). I will keep coming here to know about how things are going anyway, in case I have the chance to play again, you are the best for shadow related stuff.
biggest con of void crash was that if the target dies before the void crash lands, it does not work at all and no targets are dotted
Keeping shadow crash so i can accidentally hit the ceiling with it and then have something to blame i'm doing no damage.
Why not just combine the two? If its not targeted it crash into the ground, if it is targeted it follows. I mean….
Another pro is that it gives insanity. So you can cast SC on the floor before the dungeon starts and get 6 extra insanity.
With VC you cannot, because you need a target sadge🥲
Increase the projectile speed of shadow crash and I would love it. Ok, lower CD would also be nice 😉
They should remove shadow crash's cap.
Void Crash seems buggy. If 3 mops run close to each other, only the one in the target will be hit, even though the other two are close enough to that mop. I had it a few times
Would be cool for the class feel, like something where you have some sort of corrupting sin. Spreads your dots to nearby enemies. So if there are more than 8 mobs you could spread the dots in a cool way. Also adds some forgiveness if the dots hit weaker minions as opposed to prio targets or some leap out… not as punishing having to spam tab to keep dotting.
I will miss the basement view.
Personally I like that there is a different Option but I think I´m gonna stay shadow crash aswell, even if a moving tank will be "easier" with voidcrash you just have to fail and use it on the range mob and the tank pulling the pack is gonna denie you again. Something that would be really great to garantie you to hit those, would be if they add something like a "stack" that if you just hit 3 target with it they have the remaining stacks on them and if they will be pulled close to another target those remaining stacks could hop over to the new target (I don´t care if its only the remaining time of the Dot since adding new freshly new dot would be OP in chainpulls). Something like that would be pretty awesome and take alot of stress and hate out of the slow flying ball and the unfortunate feeling you have after missing it.
Buff on the Range of Shadowcrash sounds also really good, but only a small increase so that you can´t add by accident any new packs to it (10-12yards sounded good). For the Limit of the targets dotted I always dreamed of getting uncapped dots out of it but that would probally be waaaay to overtuned even tho it would be reeeeally fun 😀
Honestly it's not the ability itself that makes me mad. sure I've tossed it in the wrong spot or hit a stalactites one time or two. it's really the cd on it. it feels so bad when you don't have it for a big aoe pull which is every pull. 20 secs is too long. I think 10 would be more appropriate. alt tabbing to dot every mob is too annoying I'll just wait till it is back up. lol
shadow crash just needs a bigger radius and not limit the dot count in PvE, and if they're not willing to increase the radius then it needs charges. Crash is just way too unforgiving to be our primary dot spreader and in keys, it always ends up being 'if only i could dot them all', and this season it's basically, crash, tab dot, void eruption to extend and if you prefer DA you're SOL. If you could extend dots on Mind flay insanity to a group that could also be a compromise.
Void crash seems to just make it not possible to miss a target, but could be the wrong choice given the use case.
Can we plz address the issue that it still won’t prio elites over minions? I hate throwing a crash to have it apply to minions that dies in .5secs then I have to manually dot, the trees in brackenhide are horrible at this.
Increasing the radius would be a great improvement for sure. Hope they implement that.
how does it function on targets with Large hitboxes. Some raid bosses are huge and adds may not be in their direct center
I see every few pro's for Shadow. I will be using void.
So glad we finally have an alternative to Shadow Crash. It's insane to me that Shadow Priests entire ability to do big AoE was completely dependant on a slow moving, missable skillshot. Like what the heck Blizzard. All these other classes have guaranteed, fast hitting abilities and Shadow Priest just has a slow ass missle that can also miss, which would require several GCD's of setup to replace.
Could be the trauma from all my Shadow Crashes hitting a chain on the ceiling during a pull, but Void Crash is now my permanent choice
I hope you make some more content for how shadow priests are right now in the beta. Id really like to hear your thoughts about how they feel right now and your thoughts going into the new expac.
