"Warcraft's New Master Manipulator" is all about the new villain of this expansion.

"The BEST Written Dwarf in Warcraft History" is also very good since she will be one of the protagonists of this expansion.

I highly reccomend some more platinum wow videos, he does an amazing job going over the general lore of the charecters and world while keeping it funny and telling it in a way that is easy to understand.
Also a great dude.

Long story short though, Xalatath was a dagger we found in legion, a sentient blade of shadow who we find has been causing chaos to those that find it, ritual sacrifice, self harm, destruction and espionage, massacres and murder all in the name of power. In battle for azeroth the blade has dissapeared, however found by us the player, and something important to note, from here on, any interaction between us and her, is kept mostly secret from the rest of the world.
We find an elven cultist who we slay and through a ritual transfer xalatath into, basically the elf she is, is a meat puppet. She then leads us to a place and sells us out to nzoth in exchange for her freedom, she vanishes into the void as Nzoth has his fun with us, putting a giant olf god eye into our mind that lets him see what we see, which is quite important later, as some who still have this eye, end up going back in time, allowing him to decipher which timeline he is in, giving him great knowledge, and seemingly allowing him to manipulate us for later purposes, but so far we are not sure what this entails, as this just happened.
But back to xalatath. She has been gone since then, however in Season of Discovery, a new little event wow has been holding where people can play through a slightly altered version of vanilla wow from 2004, xalatath is back, and allying herself with us, helping us on our adventures, at the cost of us helping her, and the key line "One day, I will ask your favor"

And now she is back, and well, shes OUR ally. we have made deals with her, worked with her, made her more powerful. Because WE are the legendary adventurers who care for little more then loot and glory, something her, and only a few other villians/heroes have used to their advantage before. But she is back, and with the dark heart, to seemingly bring the void to azeroth, and how it will play out, how OUR allyship with her will play out? well we shall see. But she is a villian of immense power, one that WE made.

The War Withing will be a chapter which does not end good… hence the next expansion called Midnight, so Xal'atath will bring the Shadow!

That line "The drums of War, thunder once again" carrys so much weight for anyone who's been playing WoW since the beginning. The last words that were spoken in the original cinematic before the World of Warcraft actually kicked off into what it is today.

Xal'atath has been a long time coming and I cannot wait. I REALLY hope Blizzard don't have us kill her in the War Within because she could be such a great long term baddie which we are lacking right now after taking out so many over the years.
