The last NHL game I purchased was NHL 22. As someone who strictly played offline specifically Franchise Mode, once they started to restrict what you could and couldn't do, I was done. I tolerated them removing the ability to Edit Players in Franchise but in NHL 23 when they removed the ability to edit your strategies (even though that aspect has been in every single game for the last two decades), I stopped. Nothing irritates me more than a gaming company telling you how you, the paying customer, should play the game.
I'm sorry but people that play HUT in NHL, MUT in Madden or FUT in FIFA are fuckin idiots….stop lining EA's pockets with microtransactions…they've been taking the piss for years now. I can see it…I'm old skool… I still own NHL 94 on the Sega from way back….don't do it to yourselves….

when you've made a game that allows you to rag around the offensive zone and you can't knock them off the puck or poke check without penalties the game is no fun. And don't get me started about the goaltending, worst it's ever been, went from being a top 20 goalie in 2023 to a top 100 goalie in 2024. weak shots from the point hitting you in the chest, bouncing 5 times and going in the net…SMH
NHL 25. EA should Create a North American version and a Europe version. North American version should include NCAA, USHL and get rid of the Europe leagues that no ever uses and keep it in the Europe game after they fix all the issues.

And they use the same talking points every year. Also HUT is what is murdering the series and the UT mode in general is an evil that is destroying every game ea makes as they only focus on that. I've only played one game where it's not insanely predatory and respects the game and that was the show when it came out on Xbox for the first time during covid
I purchased NHL 2014 for ps3 2 months ago and i am addicted. My buddy asks me why i dont "upgrade" to a modern one since i have a newer console but i tried to tell him the older ones are better than the newer ones.
EA is giving people what they want in every sport: pay to win. I stopped watching most major sporting leagues long ago because the culture of sports (especially basketball) has changed from being a team game to one-on-one battles; The ultimate goal is to "break someone's ankles" and have the spectators react disrespectful so Mr. Handles69 can get more followers and Twatter Twits. This pathetic new sporting culture has permeated every sport to varying degrees. This mentality is what EA is catering to. So, every time someone "likes" a YouTube video of an athlete dancing like Janet Jackson (because they recovered a fumble on a lucky bounce, etc.,) the toxic culture is reinforced.
I have been telling them the same shit on X everyday! Fuck EA they are a trash company! Pack weights were the fucking worst literally designed to fuck the consumer!
I bought every NHL game from NHL14 to NHL22 and it was a hard decision to stop buying them but honestly after stepping out of the cycle I'm really glad I did because with the state of the game right now it isn't worth being paid to play.
I'll be honest, I'm sticking with '23 as long as I can. I didn't enjoy the alpha/beta of '24. When I get time I'll most likely either do fantasy draft franchises or a franchise of a team that's never won a Stanley Cup.

I have no hope with the major EA sports titles, especially this one. At least the College Football series looks decent but, the NHL series is done for, if things don't (and probably won't) change.

I hate how some games I can get 2 or 3 great set up goals just for other team to hit a couple total control Michigans, I’ve only hit 2 on skill stick in online play through 23 and 24. And they both came in 24 one being today coincidentally. Hitting is bullshit I’m going to say what the video picture says, and I hate how I can get a penalty if I’m too early on a one timer if I’m too close to another player.
just got nhl24 on ps+ while putting it off for a few months lol while it's ok, i definitely wouldn't be buying nhl games every single year. i'd say maybe like 1 every 3-5 years just for the animation updates and stuff like that. if something's coming out every year there's no way there's enough changing to make it worth it. that's why cod is absolute dog shit now and has to coast off of that bogus-ass battle royale garbage lol

I’m a huge hockey fan but I play NBA2k every day and it is beyond better than EA NHL.
