  1. I remember climbing up the wall into Gilneas when it was just a giant gate back in vanilla (a portion of the mountain was climbable. The area was just flat land of nothing.

  2. Lore explanation, the elvish structures might be an early High Elf settlement since they were banished from Kalimdor and before their architectural style deviated from the N'Elves.

  3. Changes have come to this zone recently, there is now two invisible walls when you first come in through the gates, and walking through the fake walls at the end to get to the ruins has been changed. The terrain is harder to get up and stuff. But you can still. When you get out there the sky is like purple and starry and there is a blue/purple glowing and moving barrier around the area that seems to chime when you pass through it. Otherwise it seems to be the same…but also on one side of the area (in strat before you go through the fake wall to the ruins) there seemed to be a potential new area that I didn't fully explore. Very interesting stuff!

  5. no idea why Youtube is suggesting I watch this video 5 years later. Perhaps maybe because Blizzard's self destruct bomb is finally detonating. quite interesting tho. makes me nostalgic for when i did once upon a time used to play the game. I remember trying to swim there once but they had put mountains you couldn't traverse by the time I tried exploring that spot. found other non used spots in the world over the years I played tho.

    nit pick;
    it's not really 2d. it's just using only half of the objects to save rendering resources. all enclosed 3d objects only have one side of a vertice rendered as it's unnecessary to render the inside as that won't be seen unless you can get a camera inside the object.. thus halving the resources necessary to render the object… the devs further reduce rendering requirements by deleting vertices that no one is going to be looking at (theoretically). the same goes for collision boxes- if no one is going to be able to cause an interaction with it, then they don't need to have a collision box in addition to the graphical object thus saving even more resources and time.

  6. I tried doing it with this method, didn't work, then I went next to the invisible wall that you run into if you try to fly through, I used blink as a mage and I was in. Honestly surprised how easy it was, seems like Blizzard didn't care enough to make the invisibility wall unbreakable lol

  7. I just found this place on accident while flying around aimlessly. It took me a second to get past the invisible wall, but I did a double take when I saw that I had entered "Quel'Thalas". It was even more surprising when I clipped underground and ended up in a courtyard with an untextured necropolis overhead. It's always such an uncanny experience stumbling upon little secrets like this. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I always get the feeling that someone is watching me go where I'm not supposed to and that they know I know how the sausage is made.
