7:11/7:27 I miss Allen Bestwick
23 years later, still hold my breath waiting for the "Big One."
Weren't Stewart and Labonte teammates? If that is correct Stewart kinda screwed his teammate at the end.
Why does it seem super speedway racing 20 yrs ago was more exciting than in recent years? The drivers? The way the cats sound n look? The fact that there was a grand stand on the back stretch back then. Today Nascar is boring to me and it bums me out.
To me this was the perfect restrictor plate package. They could get huge runs with that wicker on top and the one they put on the spoiler and made the racing soooo good
My first ever talladega race watching live as a fan . It was great
Back in the day when JR won, everything was right in the world!
I miss Allen, bp and wally doing nascar for nbc
Best era of Nascar imo
Dale Sr taught Jr how to dominate restrictor plate races
"Captured by myself" lamo sure, filled the tv
My dad & I were at this race.
We were both HUGE Earnhardt fans…his death was a HUGE impact to us in 2001.
After Earnhardt's death my dad became a HUGE Michael Waltrip fan & I became a HUGE Earnhardt Jr fan.
Watching Jr win this race was so special to my dad & l…we talked about how much fun we had & what a Talledega race & experience meant to me & him all the way back to Mobile Alabama.
IT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST MEMORIES & TIMES I EVER HAD WITH MY DAD!!!
I sure do miss my dad now…I still think about this race & I have to just cry & smile…THERE AIN'T NOTHING LIKE A FATHER/SON RELATIONSHIP & MEMORIES!!!
Much love from Mobile Alabama.
If this happened today, NASCAR would have instantly thrown a caution and the race would end there. But this was a time that racers would race back to the caution. And it was the final lap.
Labonte blocks Bobby Hamlilton.
TROUBLE CONTACT BOBBY LABONTE’S OVER! ITS THE BIG WRECK ON THE FINAL LAP!
They’re racing back for the win! Dale Earnhardt Jr and Tony Stewart are side by side!
7:55 “Did I win?”
Can't believe that this was 20 years ago today.
In nascar thunder 2003 this race is in the lightning challenge
Love this sound
No replay of the crash?
do you realize how much louder your opening & closing music is than the rest of the video wtf man
7:18
One of the best races ever!
I miss the days of hearing packed crowds roar over the engines at Dega and Daytona when Junior would take the lead
Here during 2020 covid19 and after 2020 Season Finale 500.
Sunday was the best day of the week, because we knew the Race was starting soon.
Unreal how good of cars DEI had at plate races back then
8:49 The moment you realize that International has been using the same front ends on their trucks for 20 years.
Peak NASCAR era and them going all out for a million bucks.
When Stewart forced Jr up to the high side coming to 3 to go…..I think that ticked Jr off judging by his aggressiveness the last two laps
Also the crowd noise at 7:48 EPIC
Hi from France ! I remember this race, I was 10 at the time and I was a Formula 1 fan but a friend got me interested into NASCAR and told me about Daytona, Talladega, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Labonte etc … This NASCAR race was the first I watched, and it was amazing. I remember the French commentator telling us about Tony Stewart who said that he would win by slowly making his way back to the front at the end of the race, about the skills of Dale Earnhardt Jr on this speedway inherited from this father who recently had died … And then this huge crash. Great memories !
3:29 i'm so satisfied
Even with a tragedy still fresh this age of nascar easily trumped today nascar
Still to this day have no idea why Stewart didn't go with Labonte
This was my first reggae race. I’m a Stewart fan so talk about exciting!
Best drive Jr. ever had, looked like Sr. those last 3 laps.
I miss Benny Parsons
That was Bad Ass Jr. 👍👍👍
“Crazy finish” ??
More like…..
every finish at Talladega.
LABONTE BLOCKS BOBBY HAMILTON
Wow. Fuck that intro.
You don’t see racing like this anymore, and THAT is why nascar is dying. Privileged, silver spoon drivers killed the sport.
Taking the lead at Talladega: YEAAAH BOYYY
Knowing Gordon, Jr, Stewart, and Martin are behind you: ShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShitOhShit!
I was at this race.
What was Labonte trying to accomplish at the end? By blocking Hamilton twice, he wrecked half the field and flipped himself.
They do more shit like this then nascar would be back to where it was. It's a shadown of its former self
Wally Dallenbach was a much better announcer than he ever got credit for.
Man those sounds and that racing. Incredible. Nascar at its Peak really.
To this day I still can't believe Stewart didn't go with Labonte on the last lap
Real sound of Nascar!
