Yeah this was good proved that the win in Daytona was no fluke as DEI dominated restrictor plates I was 21 at the time remember media couple drivers saying the race was fixed and this race showed it wasn't and Dale Jr dominated the restictor plates with Waltrip getting couple more too DEI had badass Restictor plate package from 2001-2004
I like this was one year later When his dad won the 500
This started a streak for Jr. The 1st of 7 straight top 2 Talladega finishes for him.

oh I thought that he jumped on the roof and knocked it in a little…or something. Then they started prohibiting drivers from getting on top of the roof and celebrating which really killed it for me.
I remember watching this…i was 11 and the first thing that came out of my mouth after that race was "the hans device got it's test today"…it was the first all drivers were mandated to wear it
You could tell Bobby Hamilton was seriously shaken by that wreck when Labonte turned down across him. I don't blame him, that last few laps was insane, and then that Big One on top of that? Wow.

@m140m yeah i meant his first at Talladega. I don't know exactly what I was thinking, considering I watched the 2001 Pepsi 400.
Dale's Jr first restrictor plate win was at the Pepsi 400 that year. This was the start of his incredible four straight wins at 'Dega.
They did find some sort of infraction on the 8 car afterwards, I was not sure what it was.
I have the last part of this race, Dale Jr's first restrictor plate win. I knew something big was gonna happen at the end and it sure did. Never got the other driver interviews but I got Junior's interview though.
