Pretty sure this isn't just one and done as they said it's their "first" fully 2d animated short film. And I'd bet my left ass cheek that we're getting good shit like this because of Chris Metzen. He's the main dude that blew out the Warcraft games to have way more cool shit in them in Warcraft 2 as Warcraft 1 was VERY bare bones and really just imitation Warhammer at that time. I hope these big ass info dumps aren't too overwhelming but here we go again.
So I found the name of that video I wanted you to see. It's "The (almost) Complete History of Warcraft" I had the name wrong and it's by Hidden Azeroth, it's informative and funny at the same time. Just know the first time you watch it it'll make your head spin a bit. You could do a breakdown of it after you finish it and probably have a way better idea of the events of the Warcraft games and WoW and it's expansions. Also there's three Windrunner sisters. Alleria, Sylvanas and Vereesa. Vereesa was the one that Alleria left Arator with when she got stranded on Draenor in WC2. Not 100% on how she got her Void powers. There are Six Cosmic Forces that we know of at least on the Outer Ring of the chart. Fel (Disorder), Arcane (Order), Life, Death, Light (Holy), Shadow (Void). The inner ones being Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Spirit with Reality at the center.
So Alleria and Turalyon didn't disappear in Burning Crusade. They disappeared at the end of Warcraft 2 which is roughly 25 years before Burning Crusade. There's a pretty big gap between the Second and Third Wars (WC2 and WC3). When we got to Outland in BC (2007) we were hoping we'd find Turalyon and Alleria there but Blizzard didn't have time to write a story for them, so their status was simply "missing". That actually BECAME part of the official story as we found Khadgar, Danath Trollbane and Kurdran Wildhammer but they had no idea what happened to Alleria and Turalyon after Draenor was ripped apart and dumped into Netherspace. As Alliance when we first went to Hellfire Peninsula and Honor Hold we found a "blood elf" paladin (he's actually half High elf-half human" named Arator the Redeemer, he is their grown up son and has been featured here and there in WoD, Legion and BFA. So that was our only hint of them in BC.
Later around 2016 when Legion was coming out an audio book available on the WoW website came out called "A Thousand Years of War". I still need to listen to it myself but basically from what I know of it Alleria and Turalyon were separated from the other 3 when Draenor was ripped apart and dumped onto some world in Netherspace. Where they met the Lightforged Draenei and the Army of the Light (a bit different from normal Draenei). Turyalon being a paladin got along with them of course and was eventually Lightforged and made an Exarch of their army which also made him immortal. Alleria being a high elf is extremely long lived as well. So this story takes place in the space of 1000 years of them literally running from Legion world to Legion world fighting the demons alongside the Army of the Light but because they're in the Twisting Nether time back in Azeroth and Draenor's reality flows differently. We meet them in Legion roughly 30-40 years after they disappeared on Draenor and link back up with them but from their perespective it's been a thousand years.
Somewhere in that story Alleria met an ethereal named Locus-Walker who taught here the Void shit. I think she also got infected with Void somehow, I need to listen to the audiobook myself but I did read a synopsis on it once. At any rate IN LEGION. In one of the 7.3 patch dungeons Seat of the Triumvirate we fight a Void Naaru as a last boss and there's a cinematic where she tries to pull the Void energy out of it to save it but instead it turns into a ball of Void energy and hits her and fuses with her which seems to even further enhance her Void powers.
At some point you should look up the Cosmic Voices chart, it's just a chart that shows the powers of the universe and we've already been told it zooms out further which we haven't seen yet. Void and Death are different powers and are not aligned. Sylvanas was empowered by Death whereas Alleria is empowered by Void or Shadow. I wish you had a channel Discord or something I'd link you some shit that could really help your react content.
Something that will help you make distinctions with the timeframes. FOR THE MOST PART the WoW expansions are based on the time they last and the time it takes to get to the next expansion is ideally the time that passed DURING that story. So like…Wrath was 2008-2010 Cataclysm came out in 2010 so "The War in Northrend" lasted 2 years BUT there are places where they specifically state time gaps. 5 years from the start of Shadowlands to the start of Dragonflight for example. 4 years between Warcraft 3 and WoW vanilla's start (despite WC3 being 2002 and WoW being 2004). I'm pretty much an encyclopedia of knowledge for this damn game, even during the years where I quit for a bit as I GREW UP with these games playing the RTS with my dad and the MMO with my wife and our friends. If you do have a community Discord hit me up and I can clarify shit that the videos will confuse you on. Keep up the reacts man, great content and awesome to see soemeone getting into a new expansion. Expansion release for WoW are always hype AF even when the expansions end up sucking (which a few have sadly…) and yeah it's pretty normal that they pop off a shitload of teasers, animatics or animated shorts, new pre-rendered cinemtacis and even the Features trailers which a lot of react channels miss but those actually usually tell more story than the big cinematics do. Hope you have at least one 70 ready to start War Within! Anyways have a good one dude!
First of all I still can't get over how few subs you have, you genuinely are interested in lore and thats what people love, I've seen every reaction so far, keep going. This is just summary of her story, shes been fighting legion alongside Turalyon and army of light basically for thousands of years before she gave up to the void because time flows differently on Argus and thats the time when we met them again in Legion. The other elf that kept her son safe was third Windrunner sister, Vareesa.. hope she gets some spotlight aswell 😀 Wishing for anime series aswell, greetings from Czechia
