professions are super confusing for anyone coming back after 10 years
everything he described has been there since wod: didnt like any of the other expansions.
hasnt played any main endgame content (that's been there since legion or before as well)because they're not out yet: says this expansion is good.
doesnt really make any sense
Unsubbed
agreed its a good start lets see how the patches work out.
Are you sure you played enough DF? Many features you name are implemented in S4 of DF already. I got back when S4 was nearly over tho. No clue about start of DF
Almost looked cool till you realized you're a rogue main and its just another dumpster buy glad i stayed strong and didnt pay them more money… story looks cool though i guess free.99 on youtube tho
I aint givin blizzard a dime, fuck that company
Also, shout out Tauren Druid, not sure if anyone remembers Fuzzywuzzier, but yea tauren druids 4life.
Is the guy from Everquest making a huge difference? I felt good about this expansion when I heard he was coming along, involved in the Broken Spines stuff, and a lot of the stuff that brought Everquest back up to speed with Modern MMORPGs. I thought the trailer and the story were very intriguing. But yea, this one had some good vibes going into it, and I am glad that it APPEARS to be worth playing.
I am not going to play WoW again, but Thor made some very very very tempting observations.
Sold me on resubbing my WoW account and actually playing retail over classic. I was one of the EB Games manager testers before game launched and watched exactly what you said happen. This has my interest peaked again
Ah shit. Well, looks like I'm getting sucked back into this game again….
Nah.. This expansion sucks and is boring lol
Nice. Lemme know when the game is free
Hello, I am Dan and I am abstaining from MMOs for 5 years. Now I can eat at least once a day, I am able to work at least 4 hours a day, I reply to my non MMO friends when I feel up to it and from time to time I've even seen the sun!
Wow is making a comeback?!
I had no hope for wow's future but this looks promising. I was certain that i was going to listen thor roast the new expansion but nah. If even he enjoyed playing it, it really must be good.
Welp. LFG
The expansion honeymoon and sponsored streamer money phase be like.
Blizz put a fly here to not get any more quest … Right in the toons of mandatory quests. Worst Expansion ever. Maybe ill wait for next Event, like timecrap start at 10 things.
the philosophy is the complete and total opposite of the original game
Even if its good, im not coming back.
MMO business models are predatory and lead to addictive behavior.
Buying a game + a sub + DLCs should be illegal.
I wish WoW was accessible byt the truth is its a money sink that makes you wait months for content and you have to pay every single month even when the content isnt there yet.
A lot of talk for not so much
In dragonflight i bought the early access. Leveled my evoker. Was kind of hyped to go to dragon lands. The first thing that happens is the boat takes you from SW to the isles. I picked up the first 2 quests like "kill some small dragons" and killed 2. Then I logged out. In the open world and didn't log back in until 13 months later. True story.
It was just something that felt mega off.
For this expansion again early access expensive edition do the boring repetitive "memory of azeroth" bs… Thinking this will be like df… Logging out at first quest but no. It actually felt a little like you say "they finally got to do what they wanted".
Cautiously optimistic and playing too much. 🙂
WoW seems like something I would enjoy so much, but with ~1 hour of gaming time a week, it will just never happen.
So they made classes and profession more complex again after people complained about the lost class identity for years. i wonder how long this lasts until its back to the braindead system again
it's super strange to me that you can do dungeons with npcs now. like, what's the point of playing an mmo if all you want is a single player experience?!
clickbait garbage
A lot of what he’s giving this expansion credit for was true of dragonflight as well. TWW is just building off of dragonflight’s foundation with a more engaging story.
Really? I thought the zones were so boring and bad to traverse..
Not exactly stoked to get back into WoW, because I know Blizzard's gonna create some "new" issue just so they can "fix" it in the next expansion to make us think they're doing us a favor.
slamming that hammer as a pally, even the sound, is SO SATISFYING!!!
Wow they took so much from other mmos at this point. I really dont think I'm coming back to wow until they remove flight. I get it you wanna get to your destination. Kills the world. ✌️
i should not have watched this… i wonder if this is how a recovering addict feels when someone is offering them a hit of something?
Isn't the crystal in the sky the sword?
This is the 1st expansion I had not preordered or even looked forward to playing it. But no you had to go and ruin it for me. Maybe, just maybe I might give it a chance.
They actually took the ASE flying mechanics and put them to good use here
It looks like they stepped back and really considered what people liked, and what was shitty; what people liked in their competitors, and what people liked that was unique to WoW. There are definitely questions of if they can keep it interesting and keep players returning, but this is a good start.
Even as a non-wow player I think this is good for the entire MMO community. Good competitions forces everyone to improve.
"its good right now, so ima play it right now" – most underrated sentence on the internet
Exasctly how I feel about this expansion. Spot on feedback. Veteran player returning here, played first season of DF and then stopped. But they got me good this time too.
Wait, thats a crystal up there? I thought it was the tip of the big ass sword.
its a wonderful addon, i never enjoyed wow so much, aside from BC and Wrath. this is so good i really looking forward to questing itself, its not a burden anymore. its interesting story, cant wait for it to unfold, i inhaled so much HP.L. in between to get a glimpse of what may come even.
if having no paladins in D-IV meant, getting this instead, IM TOTALLY IN FOR THAT – i just like the idea of the story with light and flames casting away shadow, finally the kobold- candles make sense and so on.
just fukin great. they made wow great again ^^
i dont think your gonna be able to do mythic raids no offence but a casual player like yourself, mythic raids are not in the content you will be able to do, especially on launch
Yeah im in the same boat… got me hooked, just dont fuck it up this time.
I've been gone since Legion and I'm still gonna wait before I consider returning.
Maybe till the next expansion.
I’ve really enjoyed the open world so far
Usually I’ve just been the dude to go 80 > gear up for M+ > keys on loop forever
But now as I’m exploring the open world there’s just so many damn things to click on or collect!
There’s glowy balls which give you currency, there’s boxes that give loot
There’s ground patches that drop a currency special to that and procession stuff which a fun little interaction on each one
There’s chests legit everywhere
And there’s always something within like 10-30 seconds of flying anywhere around me and it’s awesome.
I can see how a bunch of the war band stuff is bugged because it’s a hugeeeee change that’s changing how the game has worked for 20 years, there’s bound to be bugs.
I personally wish they’d look at the Druid class tree and the rogues hero talents, as those two are the classes I love the most and are either bugged or just feel really bad to work with and I’m hopeful they will soonish.
Also imo guardian Druid is the best spec I’ve seen for having your own flavour and style, creating your custom builds
And I absolutely love that as a Druid main!
This is the first time since Legion where I’ve felt like the full WoW team is just firing together on all cylinders and that they’ve got the game (and all the underlying systems at that) purring.
Another thing that probably won't matter to most players is being able to obtain the appearance/ATT credit for any item on any character. So if I disenchant a green plate item on my mage, I'll get the appearance even though I'm not soulbinding it on my warrior. This removes so much hassle from farming transmog or just getting incidental transmog while doing things in the world. This was out with the prepatch, but it's so nice. Oh, and you get an exp % bonus for your alts for getting characters to 80. 5% per character up to 5/25%. It's from the "Mentor" achievements in General. So much QoL stuff.
I cannot afford a monthly subscription unfortunately. Otherwise I would consider buying this expansion because of those solo features.
I no longer support nor play any of the ActiBlizz stuff. Period. It is just me tho. Happy to know that you are still enjoying WoW.
youre playing an elune druid and your thrash does arcane damage and hits like a truck? isnt that what every elune druid gets? whats the alternative talents to take?
illusion of choice imo
Rare WoW W and I'm here for it.
A note about the music there is a slight nod (or at least what I hear as a nod) to Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, you can hear it in the menu of WoW or in the bee area in the Isle of Dorn. There is a brief maybe 5 second or so part of the music that sounds very similar to the song that plays when Frodo is riding with Gandalf in the first 10min of the movie. Not sure if it was intentional but when I heard it in game I went "Who the fuck is watching LOTOR without me" and then I realized it was WoW and it brought a huge smile to my face. I really hope it was intentional or maybe the subconscious of the composer when he was bringing it all together.
