They may have lost the FIFA licence, but EA continue their staple footballing franchise under a new guise in EA Sports FC 24. The Nintendo Switch gets a ‘full’ version this time with no legacy tag in sight. Is it worth playing? Well, let’s find out!

Massive shout out to the sensible soccer theme at the start. Brings back a lot of memories
The input delay is crazy on here
Wow
It's on discount so got it even if I have it on Xbox I wanted Volta and portable forever.
How is nobody mentioning the SLIDESHOW that is the ridiculously laggy 2-3 fps cutscenes in manager mode, like is my copy defective? Am i crazy? I've definitely seen videos of other people with this, how does this not get a mention? Doesn't anyone else play manager mode?
Anyone know if this has been patched up to smooth out the frame rate? Not as concerned with the other stuff but also curious if it’s been improved.
Finally picked it up for $20 at target
The 30fps may seem disappointing but for a slow paced game with a far off perspective it should be fine. Sports games are always the best for portable gaming for me and im glad they finally have a proper Fifa update on the Switch.
How do I control the players cause everytime I try to AI plays for me
It didn’t get mentioned but did the licensing affect England Championship teams I.e Leeds United? Gna recommend this review to anyone who watched the ign review (compared this to next gen console version .. smh) and Nintendo life (copy n paste review from legacy editions in the past not much better for this game in terms of effort) so it helps anyone on the fence make a decision. Defo seems like if we get a new “switch 2” it could make this shine even more
I’m so glad that the switch version is finally decent. This is one of those games that I’d rather have handheld. Just got it in the sale for like £27, so looking forward to playing it when it finishes downloading! 🦊
Does it still have input delay?
I think this upgrade is getting ready for the new switch
no input lag? sold me. its no PES, but its the best we gonna get on the switch
Great review. Haven't bought fifa since 19 so excited to see a bonafide new version.
Why isn't anyone complaining about the time it takes when you press a buttong for the player to actually do what you commanded it to do? It takes way too long to make the game enjoyable (at least for me). The rest is fine, I'm happy with everything else but I hope that issue is fixed because it makes me regret buying it.
I've actually preferred the Switch versions, particularly fifa 19, over the console versions because it controlled much better in my opinion. On console it felt way too floaty and when playing on Legendary the Cpu would pass to the left/right back, fly down the field with blazing speed, cross, goal. It'd be 4-0 by half. Every. Single. Time. Playing on Legendary on switch I'd get much more competitive/realistic games.
I’m old fashioned and maybe an idiot but I still don’t really get Ultimate Team.
This reminds me of the SNES FIFA International Soccer game from 1994 a lot – i loved that one and compared to the modern FIFA games it was way more minimalistic and focused exclusively on fun, with some realistic touches.
Anyone welling to trade account with me git a bunch of good games
Lol why couldn’t the hv done this earlier??? Too bad ive stopped playing my switch now.
Good thing i hold my self from buying fifa since 2019…..
Running in 60 fps or 30 fps?
Is it worth to buy this or do I just stay with fifa 22?
Peccato che quello che fate vedere nn è il gameplay su switch…
It’s nice to see EA finally making an effort with FC 24 on the Switch.
These kind of games should be $50AUD then I'd buy straight up
Imagine UFC 4 on the Switch, that would be choice!
Lag in FUT Menu is horrible
I want this game but too much expensive.. huh
Ugh pay to win
Share Camera settings bro
Is that the sensible soccer soundtrack in the background. Memories of breaking my dad's amiga by trying to shove sensible soccer into the floppy disk drive incorrectly.
Too expensive
i liked the old switch engine gameplay better but maybe thats just me
