I like the game bro… I’m still playing. But the player base is dwindling. Gotta give people what they want.
SoD is super casual friendly. the problem begins where people confuse casualness with with player skill. 2 different things that are often spoken as the same.
Also: ST doesnt have much trash at all, other then the start prior to the first boss, you clear the raid within an hour.

I just want to provide my opinion on why phase 1 was good because i sort of disagree with your comment that the barrier of entry was low was the reason it was fun, the reason it was fun is because everything mattered, with Mutiple phases on the horizon you could farm and level other characters and that would help you as you got to 60. The main problem is that they ruined the entire game with people running incursions for gold, xp, and rep. its really that simple, do you want to run in circles? if not then go play cata or some other game. There's no reason to run dungeons, leveling an alt means almost nothing, lvl 50 gear is given to your character. Enchants dont matter because the raid is so easy with buffs. i could go on but all they have to do is get rid of the incursions and the game would be fine, its too bad its too late for them to release phase 3 without it again. I'm shocked they haven't stopped the bleeding. its like they agree it was a failure and they are ok with how they ruined the economy because its "seasonal", well im an old classic player so when the season is over, its not like im going to play retail, that will be the end for me. So that whole seasonal argument is just crap

What’s not good isn’t your trinket is down and a rogue 100-0 in seconds with no counter play, or SP put 2 dots and you are dead by the time dispersion ends… chimera shot literally hit for trash non crit. 3k I am bis and never seen anything above 1800. If someone is buffed plus be berserk buff + lone wolf maybe… still seems like excessive I’ve never seen that and I am all bis. Arcane surge??lol
So here is why this is dmg reduction is good in concept but bad in practice: A group of 5+ gankers is still gonna finish me in one or two globals unless I happen to play a class with a 90%+ dmg reduction that can be used while in a stun/silence. Previously there was a chance I could counteroneshot one of them. That chance is now gone. Up goes the incentive for antisocial behaviour against lower level players or to use an imbalance in the faction population to dominate. Those fights never happen on equal playing fields or conditions where random chance and chaos balances the scales. This happens in all the worst places (like Ashenvale incursions, critical leveling spots, etc) and down goes the participation. I totaly agree that the change made BGs feel better overall, but if you'd rather balance the rest of the game around that tiny fraction of an aspect, you're lost in the aisles and your parents should pick you up at the reception. Thus i wholeheartedly agree with the notion that we might likely need individual scaling to abilities for PvP.

I dont think you understand why SOD is dying so fast at P3 , to put it simply there are 4 different parts in sod : Gold farm/Leveling/Pvp/Raiding . Incursions killed the 1st two , incursions are much better then any gold/xp farm for just runing in circles. Pvp is questionable at best and that leave us at raiding Aka 1 hour per week for 1 int upgrade gear …. y devs F up really bad this Phase
Improvements for Modern and Casual players:
1. Remove all World buffs except raid one (single WB will be enough and help remove gatekeeping where you need to fight pain of collecting DMF and Flowers to join raid, especially on PvP realms)
2. Make more QoL – big examples: Instants account-wide mail, and class features like Mage food table, Lock HS well, Shaman weapon buff time (rly make it infinite – wouldn’t hurt anything)
3. Bring back 10 men raids with 3 days lockout.
4. Save economy… nah just a joke, after p3 nothing can and will save economy.
Account wide rep and make runes purchaseslable supply vendors for alts
The pvp changes are fine. People were bitching about the magic damage reduction, but casters still hit like a truck. Shadow priest crits me for 1100. It's insane.
There is no way a 20 man raid is casual friendly. Without one person spending a bunch of time wrangling cats to ensure everyone shows up and having potential backup folk, it's a pain in the butt.
Phase 1 = easy to play and low time per Alt = Super casuals went 1 character. All the dads could play and enjoy.
And also the more hardcore ones went 2-5 alts = all enjoined it 👍
cleared bfd over and over again, never killed last boss in gnomer, never got into a sunken temple raid so I quit
i think them looking for testers now is too little too late….. aaa gaming studio looking for testers for content released almost 6 months ago is just rather lazy or just pathetic. if the classic team was drowning in work they should have had the nuts to tell their bosses they knew the lack of employees working on this would cause brand damage…so again all the devs fault especially since they never sounded the alarm a long time ago…
I've been behind since P2. P2 went by so quick and I wasn't even halfway done with what I needed to do on my main let alone any of my alts. Casuals are SOL in SOD.
Not sure where to start but i guess a small bio could be a start just to point out i have alot of exp in wow and i believe my opinion will be helpful but many people wont like it, BE AWARE english is not my mother language, so im sorry if something sounds rude or patronizing or if it causes any inconvinience.

On SoD i have epic logs
I Play MM HUNTER since "launch" not matter how weak/strong he is.
My PvP expirience is 2k hunter on arena(Solo/3v3) and RBG. Holy Pala also around 2k but only arena.

So lets get to the juicy part.
Lets start withPvE first i guess.
Classic is all about playing with friends. You also said it yourself you had soo much fun playing with friends doing simple dungeons or farming or w/e. The hard part is managing 40-60 people.
I was saying to everybody since BFD that this raid/content is TOO HARD(mainly last 2 boss) for Classic.
If you want challenging content you can just play retail.
Even since Gnome raid people where checking logs and consumes.I strongly believe thats because of what i said at the start(last 2 boss are too hard) and people dont just wanna go and kill 4 bosses and then disban the raid because they cant progress further.
Only possible solution i see is lockout per boss like in retail so the next day or after 2-3 days you can try again with a different group.
About class perfomance all i have to say is simply all classes should NOT be able to perform at the same level on all roles when they can play all three roles.Whats the point of playing hunter/rogue if you can just play shamman and be a good at dps/tank/ healer while also providing your group with GAMEBREAKING "buffs" totems(tremor,windfurry, poison cleancing just to name a few). Also makes it almost imposible to balance in PVP which i believe is also the current PvP situation. (for example restokin(mainly balance druid but have acces to swiftment. and holy+prot pala. if i remember correctly these specs where very powerfull during cataclysm).
Now i wanna talk about PvP but i dont know where to start.
I guess we start back in the day of vanilla/classic. Almost everyone can oneshot everyone or outplay them soo hard thats like oneshot anyway. you can search for the following videos and see that.

I kinda agree though that this playstyle is not very healthy for the game and it should be improved. The 2nd pvp ressistance(-30dmg -20heal) felt like a nice start.
Last but not least i want to say my opinion about marksmanship hunter damage than you mentioned.
MM hunter is something some people call Artilery Dps ofcourse it will blow you up if let him "freecast".
Also its the only class that has "dead-range" i dont know why i shouldnt be allowed to shot players directly in the face with my gun while they are 5yard away from me, i should be rewarded with extra crit chance instead!
I would like to also mention that dead-range was instantly removed as a mechanic in TBC. Im guessing because it wasnt very fun and interactive.
I kinda aggree that our dmg is kinda high. BUT Hunters in general have ZERO defencive cooldown(for example shield wall,divine shield,blessing or protection.evasion,despresion,pain suppresison) in their kit.
ZERO movement cooldowns(for example freedom, sprint,blink,shadowstep, travel form). You can argue that we have cheetah but you get dazed if hit so its not that good in fights.
ZERO heal- selfheal or shields also!
The Only usefull thing we have is traps but they cant be used in combat unless you use the rune and even with the rune its not the most reliable CC since its not targetable like sheep or fear and also not spamable like sheep or fear.
ZERO utility like "Stun", interupt,dispell,decurse,purge. Concusive shot have 20% chance to stun for the cost of 5 talents….. and scater shot that is basicaly a mini-blind requires a talent.
Last Last thing i like to add is that alot of people are spamming Free Action potions making almost imposimble for hunter to play at all or at high effectiveness.(small story: i also used like 100FAPs in 2days so i can just be able to play the game)
I hope that you can now see that damage is totatly the only thing MM hunter has and he should be respected/feared for it, something like POM PYRO Mage for example.
The op cheese in sod bg is just plain over the top…
Arcane mage is a heal spec in SOD. Plain and simple. It's not meant for "DPSing". It's not like retail arcane
Why is SOD daying or loosing people. Simple, they try to make the content too hard. People will gate the content = Death.
People love classic because its faceroll. They just want to go into a raid, kill bosses, spam 1-2 spells, have fun, get loot repeat.
Also the reason many dislike retail. mythic raid,, toooo hard and gate people. (Cool tmog).
How to fix phase4, Make the content SUPER easy, Face roll. cool loot, good looking bosses = win. Will the Limit, echo and so on quit and cry. yes, but MOST people will love it.

I have 5 Level 50s, got banned for 1 week because i called someone a noob, since then i never refreshed my sub, i Couldnt feel any better. Sod failed.
Put an NPC at the entrance of each Raid that buffs you with all the relevant World Buffs at the cost of say….1 Chronoboon.
