#RiotForge #RuinedKing #LoL
for all the people who want to know more of League of Legends lore there is a youtube channel named "Necrit" who make lore videos (now since there are some internal problems the lore is going slowly but when something comes off he is the first to do a video about it), if you want to know more of the lore by yourself there are some books (for example if you liked the game story there is "Ruination" which should tell how the ruined king became the ruined king), Legends of Runeterra which is a free card game which trough Interactions and card descriptions give a lot of insights into the lore, and last but not least the stories you can find on lol webpage, they are pretty old nowadays but tells enough. I hope someone whit this even after 3 years can get passionate about lol's lore. I mean, where you can find a starforger celestial dragon who got tricked into slavery and now want to destroy the planet?-
It would be nice to have time stamps for the video, because I already played the entire game and just wanted to know your personal opinion on the game
Honestly, I wished the game was even longer with more content, it never felt repetitive to me because I kept switching up my party, abilities, skills and passives
I had no interest in League of Legends as I have no interest in MOBAs or competitive games in general, but after seeing Arcane and the kinds of great stories that can be told in the world they have created, I have had big interest in the single player story driven experiences they are creating. This, Mageseeker and Convergence have all been good. Looking forward to seeing what they do with Song of Nunu (Tequila Works have done some fine games)
Never before had a content creator caught all my respect without leaving the intro section of the video. Congratulations for both, the things you do as a creator and for the way you conduct yourself doing them.
I`m surprised you`ve said so little about Airship Syndicate. The studio was founded by the remains of Vigil Games (after the collapse of THQ Nordic), and is mainly known for Battlechasers, but they have also released Darksiders Genesis, which is the latest entry of the franchise. The studio is known for their comic-book-like style, which Joe Madureira (one of the founders of the studio and the creator of Darksiders as a setting) specialises in.
also, sorry but when did 20-30 hours of gameplay start to be considered short?….
40h seems resonable for a spin off. It doesn't seem to overstay it's welcome.
The line system is amazing, the lack of variety in enemies is not.
If you liked this game, you should check out battlechasers
Looks identical to Battle Chasers and that was also a great game. Thanks for the in depth review.
Do not play LoL. Learn from my mistakes ☠️
Great review! Thank you!
"pyke is probably the most interesting" if you swap interesting for annoying then you fully understand LoL.
Moba is like crack, do yourself a favor and don't even try it. I remember having no idea what I was doing and somehow ended up in a black hole. Been playing league before the big map change and community tournaments that rewarded you with riot points. It was awesome but now that I look back at it, it was the beginning of a terrible addiction.
30 hours is very short?! Sounds great to me for a single player game. Def would not call that short.
great review i started it yesterday
Finished it today on normal. Really had a great time with it!
Looks a lot like darksiders for sure. That’s a as good thing. Picked it up at the Black Friday sale on PlayStation. Now find some time to start playing it 😊
This review got me to get the game – I've been looking for a turn based RPG to really dive into again and this is the perfect price – value ratio and for a franchise a lot of my friends love but I never quite got into. Excited to play it!
The other game that the developers made, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, is a gem if you like this game.
I'll keep this on my wishlist
Battle chasers was great too
Is it fully voice acted?
Had it in my library, you convinced me to give it a try =)
No offense taken for not wanting to play LoL, stay away and keep your sanity
There is no way I would have touched this game without your review. Love your channel man, thanks for covering this one.
My review of this game so far after 89% done. I got 2 reasons for playing this game. League of legends, and the love for turn based battle systems. The world is beautiful. I love how you can get lots of different equipment and enchant it with different types of stats or damage enhancements. Whatever skill you choose to to use in order to inflict damage, heal, buff or whatever, you can level up these skills to get extra effects. And you can pick and change skills and spells you wanna upgrade free of change if you dont like your set up. So you dont have to make a new game if you regret how you set up your characters like you will have to do in many games. You also get 2 different classes that each and evry character gets access to. And these classes enhances the way you like to play with your team. As for braum for example, his 2 classes makes him scale better as a tank, or you can have him inflict more damage. Pyke for example can crit more often and gets increased crit damage. Or he can put dots on his enemies and do damage over time this way. So there are alot to experiment with and try out in whatever way you would like to play the game. And just with the skills, you can also pick and change the classes you would want to have your character be strong in. So you dont have to stick to one thing through all game. You can also have your character put points in both classes. The downside i got with this game, is that the fights felt like exhausting work and in the end i was just looking forward to be done, then i actually enjoyed playing the game for what it was. So why do i continue to finish it? Because i did not want to feel like i payed money for something i never got around to finish. Despite my negative critique, the game as a whole has it sense of charm that manage to entertain me. I just wish battles was more of a satisfying experience to go through, like something in final fantasy. Thats my opinion anyway. Maybe people out there loved this game hell of alot more then me. And i wouldn blame them. The game is good. It is worth its money. But if you are a hardcore lover for turn based battle games? You may end up getting more disapointed with this game. So my score is 6/10
JRPG…does that mean the story is convoluted as hell? And you need to kill the mini-bosses a minimum of 3 times?
Seems like a cool game. I love Airship syndicate but have no interest in this game as someone who knows nothing about league of legends. I do love Darksiders Genesis and Battlechasers Nightwar. You should check out Battlechasers because this was a copy paste really.
I love Battlechasers so I hope this does get a physical release down the line. If not then I will wait for a massive sale as I am not a fan of digital only.
I'm super interested in playing this game but the shortness of it is primarily what makes me feel skeptical of the game. Your video was very informative about the mechanics of the game and I'm definitely going to get it when it goes on sale.
Personally I just couldnt bring myself to finish it, I am at 80% and every time I boot it up I play one battle, look at the quest list and after navigating the trash map I just give up and quit
20-30 hours is honestly ideal runtime, not short at all.
Great content no bs like we see in usual review, opinionated but with fair back story on what you like in games so its just complementary to the review. Nice stuff man got a sub on my part !
So how was the narrative? Was it good?
Just finished the game. Absolutely loved it. I thought I would considering I had a blast with Battle Chasers and it's great to see they've learned since the release of that game (far better difficulty balancing for one). The battle system is one of the best I've played in a long time. However, one thing I wish they'd improved over Battle Chasers is the plodding pace. Even with a sprint button, getting around feels too slow, and it's made even worse when backtracking for quests with stingy fast travel options. RK feels worse than BC in this regard because of its open world design rather than map based.
That is literally my only gripe though. Bloody good game. And I haven't touched LoL since the release of Jinx so zero prior knowledge is required to enjoy.
First time watching one of your videos and i think and i think its a nice calm Review with all important features covered. i liked it!
Riot kinda doesn't make spinoffs like many other companies do. I mean if anything can be said about them as a positive it is that when they jump to a new medium they put effort into it. Be that the ruined king or Arcane. Everyone expects teh usual attempt to flay another skin from the franchise but actually beyond the setting very few things bind these games and media to League of Legends. Just as Arcane didnt turn out to be a "there is my champion showing off his skills" showcase, this game was pretty independent too. And I absolutely believe this is the right thing to do.
I like these more in depth reviews, very nice. For me what can really influence me is seeing the character progression/growth stuff and seeing that for this game makes it more interesting to me. It looks overall like a pretty game, and does look similar to Battlechasers Nightmare
I pumped so much money in League of Legends that i thought they just gave it me for free 😀
12:16 we are talking about the League community.
as far as i can tell from the team chat, it is even offensive that i installed the game.
If youre going to review something you shouldn't have "expectations" going in
Airship Syndicate handled Darksiders real well so i expected this to be a real time action game. Sad that it isn't, but at least it looks good.
And yeah this is Joe Madureira's artstyle, and he not only worked on darksiders, but also marvel comics for quite some time.
I like that he nailed Braum in the first sentence, Braum is adorable.
"I have not played League of legends, I have no interest of playing it." Oh, you blessed child 😀
Amazing review, so unique
were you ruined after playing this game?
This is so exciting. I loved Battlechasers:Nightwar and this looks like more of the same. I was instantly interested when I heard Airship Syndicate made this
