The EA Sports WRC VR Beta is here! I’m running in High preset at 1920×1080 windowed mode (I upsample to 1440p during editing). While running the game alone, I get 90fps in the Quest 3 no issue, but with recording it definitely puts strain onj the system and I’d recommend taking down some of the details if recording.
The VR view is not as good as the recorded footage (not even close), but if you want to play in VR and don’t mind it being washed out and too bright , it’s worth it in my opinion! I’ve been waiting for VR support for quite some time so I had lowered expectations (especially after the game was so buggy on regular screens for quite a while.

I was able to run the game in VR at 90fps (I don’t let it exceed 90) on High preset while NOT recording.
I was hitting 60-70fps on High preset while playing and also recording in OBS.
I’m using the Quest 3; my Bigscreen Beyond would likely need lower graphics settings because the screens are so much higher resolution. I’ll be able to test out the Bigscreen VR here soon hopefully (currently RMA’ing it).
I tried WRC once and was instantly put off lol, it's like a toy. So much missing, very depressing coz I was looking forward to more to do/objectives/variable difficulties etc. Straight back to DR2.
I tried WRC VR on my 4070 and the quest 3 and it looks awful, washed out colors and choppy as hell. yes its a beta but at least make it playable before you release it…….Back to Dirt 2.

The gameplay, physics, and graphics are noticeably better than DR2. Fun to watch!
How does this compare to the UEVR mod? is the performance and visuals better or worse?
…. my gtx1660ti cant run it on vr at all it's kinda disappointing. I know I shouldn't expect much from that mid gpu but to think I cant run it at all is pretty sad, i want to at least play in low setting

It looks bad on a 4090 with OpenXR and dynamic foveated rendering so I hope they improve it cause I just can't race on flat anymore.
How do you get the beta? Do you have to activate beta in steam settings?

good video, sadly that is just so much worse than dirt rally 1 and 2. i just cant go backwards by that amount. oh well. maybe in 5 years they will release the next game with the ego engine and optimized VR… yeah right, lol. but one can dream.
