How Big Are The Alpha 2 Riverlands Compared to World of Warcraft? // Ashes of Creation

The Ashes of Creation Riverlands map is 55sqkm. But What exactly does this mean, and how big is this in comparison to other MMORPGs out in the world? Today we are putting the Alpha 2 map up against the World of Warcraft Kalimdor map to see how big The Kaelar Riverlands truely is!

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMORPG experience. Our world structure is dynamic, and built to react to your actions. Cities will rise and fall as you shape the world of Verra. Quests and secrets will unlock as populations gather and their needs grow. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real-time, you will have the ability to destroy what’s been created, paving the way for new developments, populations, and change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your experience. Gone are the days of static worlds; change is here to stay!

  1. Vera is simply too big. In theory, it sounds impressive, but in practice, it results in a lot of empty or generic content, with too much space for too few players to create the community feel that people want to get out of AoC.

  2. This is both exciting and also concerning. I’m very much rooting for the game but it makes me worry how long it would take for Intrepid to fill out content the way they want to for the FULL map.

  3. "I had to pay $15 to Blizzard to make this content for you guys"

Since quitting WoW in May, I'm done with Blizzard products because they are no longer created with the gamer in mind. Everything is designed with an "investor first" mentality that sucks too much joy from the game. I know every game needs to rake in some profits, but Blizzard is taking it to the extreme and it's killing their company in the long run.

  5. I didn't level much during my time in the alpha test, because I was too busy just wandering around and feeling the world. Some of the vistas are just breathtaking. The kind of game where you literally can just get lost in it.

  6. lets hope they improve more map marks, lvling zones(specifically what lvls are mobs),quest tracking also very bad, overall i really enjoy every week play it :D!

  7. My worry is how are they ever going to complete all these areas for a launch? Even if you said 2 years a biome or even just 1 thats over 10 years to complete, they are still atleast a year probably 2 from finishing this first one.
