Packet Burst Solutions: My Settings for Smoother Gaming (IPs in the description)

Thank you all for the incredible support on my previous videos! In this one, I’m diving into the mysteries of packet burst and packet loss—what they are, who’s responsible, and how you can optimize your setup to reduce these issues.

Plus, I’m sharing my personal Call of Duty settings, tips for better performance, and even a list of IPs I’ve blocked for smoother gameplay. These IPs are from the German/European region, so results may vary depending on where you’re playing. Let me know your thoughts, and if you try out any of these tips, drop your results in the comments! Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and turn on notifications for more gaming tips and insights.

IP ranges that have worked the best for me, based in Germany:
13.107.3.0/24
20.44.86.0/24
13.86.37.0/24
20.242.71.0/24
52.96.52.0/24
52.13.58.0/24

I am not sure about these ones, they seem to break stuff (test them for yourself):
52.137.108.0/24
23.50.131.0/24

And this one, for me, blocks the levels, calling cards and emblems:
20.96.52.198 (everyone is level 1 with the same calling cards and emblems)

That is probably the server in Ireland from Demonware, that is essential for my game too boot up and establish a connection. I blocked it for testing and was not able to log in:
185.34.106.90

  1. Do you think packet loss and burst are mostly caused by servers, or is it something we can fix on our end? Let me know your experiences and what has (or hasn’t) worked for you!

I've decided to share the IP ranges I’ve been using directly here as well, so we can collaborate and create better lists together. If you’ve found any IPs that work for you, feel free to comment them below—along with your region, if you don’t mind sharing, so others can test them out!

Here’s what’s worked (and hasn’t) for me so far, based in Germany:

IP ranges that have worked the best for me:
    13.107.3.0/24
    20.44.86.0/24
    13.86.37.0/24

    52.96.52.0/24
    52.13.58.0/24

Not sure about these ones—they seem to break things (test them for yourself):
    52.137.108.0/24
    23.50.131.0/24

This one blocks levels, calling cards, and emblems for me:
20.96.52.198 (Everyone appears as level 1 with the same calling cards and emblems.)

This one seems to be essential for booting the game (Demonware’s server in Ireland):
185.34.106.90 (I blocked it during testing and couldn’t log in afterward.)

Let’s work together to find more stable options!

  2. Hey man, thanks for your effort and time. I am planning to try this myself as well. I am just wondering if you know what are the locations of the first 6 ips that you have stated in the description? Because I think I also connect mostly to Frankfurt servers (I am from Croatia, a bit more to the west tho) so maybe those IPs could work for me as well.

  3. COD connects to several different CDNs or Content Delivery Networks. CDNs are used in websites for delivering things such as styles or images on websites with large amounts of traffic and it makes loading them easier. This makes no sense for COD. We all have the game downloaded…put that data in the downloaded game, dont make me stream it millions of times. Texture streaming is stupid and shouldnt even be in the game let alone required.

I should only be receiving positional data from the server and if i am getting shot or not. But it seems like they instead want you connected to multiple CDNs constantly. Its only more expensive for them and leading to a worse product. It may allow them to have higher res textures in a smaller download size but we see how bad they are at small download sizes, theres no reason for the game to be 100+ gbs.

From briefly looking at the servers it connects to, it seems to connect to all data centers and then tries to find a match within them. Even from the US it tries to ask the server cluster in Dublin, Ireland for matches. Now i get low ping in all my matches, like 15ms, but very often the hit reg is non-existent and I get shot by people that dont render in or have not even peaked a corner yet because of the desync.

Ping isnt an end all be all, low ping doesnt mean a good quality match. But i do wonder if you force your game to connect within your region do you get better hit reg.

Might be worth playing around with geo-fencing settings in your router if it supports it. Then you dont have to find which servers not to block for login services etc as each data region "should" have their own.

TLDR: Activision uses too many servers for streaming useless data resulting in poor synchronization between players.

Geo-fencing in your router could be beneficial and is easier than trying to block random IPs. Just lookup your router and see if you can geo-fence using it.

  4. You made 3 interesting videos that got visibility, now you release a fourth without saying anything useful, do you think that changing ip and dns will improve something? The problem is at the base, sbmm that does not give priority to the connection and poor servers at 60- tickrate.

And you can do absolutely nothing to improve this for the simple reason that the problem does not depend on you.

  5. If you can block levels, calling cards and emblems, u think it's also possible to block cosmetics via IP blocking? Have you tested all the IP's yet or are there still a lot to try?

  6. Great informative video as previously. Thank you for clarifying the risks of using apps outside of default windows built in apps.
Is it possible for you to provide some COD IP's that we should not block that affect voice chat etc.?

  7. Sorry but you can’t do a damn thing about packet loss and packet burst on your end. Unless you have full access and control of COD’s servers you’re just as screwed as the rest of us

  8. DLSS is better for performance (yes better input lag).

If you get more frames with DLSS, which you should most of the time, you are gaining an advantage in input lag. If you are getting the same FPS with DLSS, change the preset to a lower one or else use FXCas.
