War within prot paladin has been through quite a journey and we always pointed out the spec’s problems but it turns out, today, 11.0.5 prot paladin is kind of the best tank 🙂
Putting all the tanking issues aside, the prot paladin rotation delivers massive amounts of damage on top of some crazy off heals but, it does run out of mana pretty fast (sometimes even more than actual healers) so let’s pack it all up and see why protection paladin is so good now!

I’m a 2600 brew main, and it’s ridiculous. If I’m not running my own keys it’s hard to get groups. 10’s aren’t even that hard, it’s nowhere near the highest end of the game, but people look at the leaderboards and won’t invite anything but the OP class… it doesn’t matter that you say things like “it only matters for highest content being played” people are elitist in wow and think their +10 makes them an MDI players, so they can only take the top classes.

The warlock raises an eyebrow and looks to the paladin, clearly confused. He set his bottle down and spoke, slowly, and clearly, so as not to confuse the paladin.
'You want me to summon water? Buddy, you've got the wrong person…'
With that said, he returned to his drink. However, the paladin spoke up once again.
'Well if you can't conjure me up something to drink, can you at least conjure me up something to eat?'
The warlock sighed heavily and set his drink down, turning once again to face the paladin.
'If I can't conjure you something to drink, what makes you think I could conjure you something to eat? You clearly need a mage, now stop bothering me.'
The warlock returned to his drink, only to find the paladin nudging his shoulder.
'Oh I'm sorry,' the paladin said mockingly. 'I thought you had something to offer to someone other than yourself.'
The warlock smoothly rose from his seat, grabbed his bottle of beer, and swung it hard, smashing the paladin full in the face. The paladin collapsed on the floor amidst a shower of beer, blood, shards of glass, and s***tered pride, groaning in pain. The warlock tossed the broken neck of the bottle on the floor, and smoothed his robes.
'Oh I'm sorry,' he said with a smile. 'I thought you could tank.'

You cried for pal tank buff on several videos then you cry now to nerf it. Never happy wow player. Sadge! Just make it easier (less CD) and buff other tanks. Personaly I did all keys +11 (2 chests) and now I stop wow. Yeah the gap is too big to push keys and that is a real problem. Same for Mythic raid. Very End content is too hard for average players or not enough progressive.
I don't agree that there were survivability buffs. I don't know what gets people to say that.
The only thing is we can take divine resonance now which increases the uptime of the parry buff a little bit and gives 3 more interrupts. But, we lost 4% haste from seal of alacrity getting removed and not compensated.
Survivability is just as bad as it was at launch. There is nothing we actually got from the rework that we didn't already have. We did get the wog buff in a balance patch and that helped.
Btw mana can still be a problem. I have to sit down and drink as a pala tank. This isn't sunshine and rainbows, especially in fights you need to dispel.
The giga good part is just not the case. This was all the damage. That was what made it meta alongside the utility.
It still feels awful to tank with it and it's still possibly to "randomly" get globalled. You have to be on the ball. Prot warrior is still easier to play.
I agree with buffing all tanks back to dragonflight.
Brew will always be bad. They just don't have the tools. Been saying that for multiple xpacs.
Also they removed multiple target weapon throw from warrior and that is such a mind boggling decision.
Also why doesn't Blood get the Venthyr covenant ability with San'layn? Let's not forget how bad the way mob casting works now making it a pain to groups mobs without silences and grips.

It should be it, magic warrior that specialises in combat and healing powers, with access to light cough magic! *cough*, warrior is just a guy, monk just a guy, death knight okay but they died loser… and demon hunter is actually pretty cool so they can come second but this should always be the case, a warrior should absolutely have to work harder to beat a paladin because you picked a normal warrior not a magical one unlucky, absolutely sick of balance in games like this, I should be able to kick a gnome or goblin over a building as a tauren! 3% difference between a 9ft humonoid bull and a 2ft tech midget is crazy!
You shut your face on prot paladin being good!! Leave us alone!!

i dont think paladin should be nerfed since people want to push high end content, all rest of the thanks should be buffed up to paladin lvls. same as healers. as you said and wich i agree with groups dps should be the gate keeper for advancing in content. i play dps and also tank as an alt, never have i ever ben flamed for failing key as an dps. tank/healer are always getting all the heat. it should change. its gotten to the point where i dont even do other people keys with my alt tank i only do my keys and i would guess same goes for many players. responsibility for success of the key should fall eaqualy on all party members
Same as Dragonflight Season 1, I mained Prot Warrior and they buffed Pala so much I have never been invited in higher M+ keys again after that. I think this kamikaze buffing and nerfing makes the game worse (i still like it a lot 😅)
Meanwhile everyone is flaming tanks in m+ for bad groups

Can we just give tanks their tankiness back? Please, I am a 3.1k io tank as a main and all other 5 tanks are at 2500. It feels terrible. They took away our healing, our damage, our tankiness and subsequently ohr threat generation while at the same time making content extra harder and healers heal a lot less…. fine take away my damage but leave the 1 thing I'm good at in a good place…. or at the very least nerf mob damage its ridiculous
I'm always top interruptor in the group without trying.
The class has 3 super 4 strong defensive, can out heal the healer on alot of pulls and out dps the dps…..great job blizzard.

On the way of buffing every other tank. Please also take a look at the healers and buff them. Please make the Holy priests levitate persist through damage and provide a movement bonus, we nearly have no movement ability and we have next to no group healing potential, our renew HoT's heal tanks with around 7mil HP for 140k hp over 15 seconds ffs. Please instead of nerfing every other healer, buff every healer too so they can actually go toe to toe with a Resto shaman

Buff them with the same utility, doesn’t have to be equal. Just similar, in the sense that I should be able to carry interrupts, heal some, and save party members from mechanics entirely. Just because you can survive doesn’t mean you will be taken, just like in season three of DF where DH could literally lock down large packs of mobs from casting or moving, and ProtPal could shit out 20+avengers shields in an instant and keep kicking for 15 seconds. Unless you have your own group or push your own keys, but even pushing your own keys what ends up happening is the dps are used to said utility and will not use theirs. Even a simple kick they can’t be bothered. That is where the unhealthy part of giving so much to certain tanks ruins the experience for other tanks and mythic+ especially in the pug scene.
This is why people need to listen to good players. Looking at the front page of RIO is out of touch. The best players always pick the best tank even if other tanks can accomplish similar keys.

There were tanks in each season that timed within a key level of each of these tanks. All you will see in DF3 for example is DH, but Yoda/Andybrew played Prot paladin in 32s.
There’s this strange thought that massively hurts the game: nerf a tank. The game would actually be infinitely better for everyone if Paladins got buffed tomorrow – along with every other tank. People will complain about Brewmaster as well. Equinox is timing massive keys this season even with the dominance of PPal on front page.
I know balancing is a detrimental part of the game but man I wish my FPS didn't drop as hard, this expa I'm playing on a "top spec" PC and is worse than playing on my microwave type pc back in BFA
