After 20 years of hearing about World of Warcraft, I finally jumped into WoW Classic Hardcore for the first time in 2025. From epic landscapes to absolute chaos, my first experience was… well, let’s just say miserable (jk!).
It was actually really fun, but I made the dumb decision to go straight into Hardcore mode—BIG mistake!

stay on retail.. classic is a highly outdated version of the game that was created for veteran players to relive their nostalgia. a lot of it is hard, and doesnt make sense unless you played the sequel’s leading up to the game.
not to mention the classic community is toxic af. lots of people that suck at the game and take it out on random players instead of learning how to play. its a trend to speedlevel to 60 right now, meanwhile those same players are griefing every group made for endgame content that they get in.
classic hardcore is only easy in your first couple lives when you have a million people supporting one guild that is dumping good items onto you at every level. and classic wow isnt fun to a lot of the community playing it for the hype train. ive played for well over a decade and still would never start a hardcore character. there is hundreds of hours that go into Classic, and a lot of them are spent for very small increment gains of progress
