We got a lot of updates this week including our first look at the new player housing system coming in the Midnight expansion, there’s a blue post going over the dev teams plans for the future, patch 11.1 has some important updates and patch 11.1.5 has started its testing cycle.

  1. 1) I hope we get a hearthstone for our new home (though IDK how that would work if we can have more than 1 home per Warband, which I hope we can do).
    2) A social change I'd kinda like to see, and I might be in the minority here, is to be able to be a part of more than 1 Guild. And then the Guild under your character name would be the one that you want to "rep" like you can do with a reputation and it's tabard.

  2. I hope there will be elf themed options for the "house" – trees in the woods, beds made of leaves, branches for stairs, that kind of stuff. I'd love to build something like that! The other thing I'm wondering is how much gold or resources this will take. I'd hate it to become a massive chore, that would feel too much like hardcore adulting, working your bum off to make a living… enough of that IRL, that's what we're trying to escape here 😂 But it does sound like they intend to make houses attainable, that's promising.

  3. I bet the whole housing will be wow's doom because blizz will make it super important and will cater to the crazy ppl pushing for … "stuff"
    With garissons ppl who slept there made huge gold, who hated it and only use it fore the campaign had a lot to lose…

  4. I remember when video games was played for fun. Now we are trying to make them a whole another world. Just another way for people not to deal with the real world and live some false fantasy ina fake one.

  5. One thing that is missing particularly with instanced content is where it fits into the lore. I have played the game for many years but when timewalking rolls around I sometimes forget why my character is entering certain dungeons. I would like a little tooltip or pop-up to toggle into to describe 'why' your characters are going into this place. Sometimes you get hints from the NPC questgivers at the entrances but I would actually like more info sometimes. I'm a bit of a lore-hound so I imagine I'm alone in thinking this though.

  6. Guild neighborhoods? But I have 10 toons in 10 different guilds and I only get one house. So I guess I stay neutral and not buy a house in a guild neighborhood. And if we buy a house and later decide to move to a different neighborhood can we "sell" our house and move?

  7. I think its way late in the game for something like player housing.
    In games with player housing you normally build houses with a sliding scale for cost, then you normally decorate the house with loot you receive in the game, and use its storage for the same.
    Placing a house just to have a house seems lame, kinda like the barracks, which i havent even used in years.
    If they implement a loot system where you can farm mobs and get rare drops thatd be one thing.
    But i have a feeling they will just add decoration to proffessions, or all houses will basically be the same.

    I see streamers talking about it like it is a big deal, but honestly I think it's kinda dumb
    I know there are some RPers that would love this shit, but is their community that big?
