It’s Time to NERF SAP | World of Warcraft

Deep dive into a WoW “W” forum discussion centering around a user, Daddycool, who suggests that the Rogue ability “Sap” needs to be nerfed. Daddycool argues that its instant, spammable, and out-of-combat nature is unbalanced, and recommends adding a cooldown. Other users respond, with some countering that Sap is not spammable due to diminishing returns, and that it requires stealth, and others sharing similar concerns, while also questioning Daddycool’s understanding of the game mechanics, as well as their motivations for posting on the forums. Some users feel that the ability is too strong in player versus player combat, especially in the Classic version of the game. The discussion is framed around perceived issues in the game balance regarding the Rogue class.

  1. It's actually quite fascinating to me that, even if we look past all the weird artifacts in their voices, the way these two AI models speak to each other makes it so obvious that they're not human for a few reasons:
    1) They ALWAYS agree with each other. Following up everything the other said with "Yeah" or "Exactly" etc etc. Real humans most of the time have other responses such as asking for clarifications or even disagreeing.
    2) Every little detail mentioned prompts them to go into a verbose metaphor to explain what they just heard. Here's just one example out of many: "Circle-jerking" is brought up, to which the other AI responds: "Indeed, a term that perfectly encapsulates the cyclical nature of these debates." They do this for each and every single little thing that is mentioned.

I can probably come up with more reasons, but anyway, it all comes together into such an unnatural exchange.
