WoW (and a few other MMOs) saved my sanity a few times. I was pretty ill in my teens, spent ages in the hospital, and when I finally got out, I was too weak to really go outside.
In that time, I could go online and actually interact with people, which was a huge life safer. In the games, I was just as capable as anybody.
Games can be an extremely positive force if taken from the right perspective. Too sad modern wow has gone the 'solo', dull filler disney story cash shop route.
