  1. The tech has been the back bone in VFX for the past 20 years.. started in Nvidia, became the base GI tech in Dreamworks, Sony Animation and even became Pixar’s go to method for Render man.. all based on Mike Bunnell’s oscar award wining Disk based GI
    Very significant and elegant tech.
    EA’s surfel method is less elegant, basically splatting Bunnell’s disc on screen, which introduces temporal and spacial noise. It’s already used in Plant VS Zombie (3D one), but is still incredibly good looking

  2. CFB 25 on Series X stutters massively when a play is finished and the screen moves to the "presentation" form, extremely jarring and if that's the cost of ray tracing I would very much enjoy turning it off!
