  1. IMO Player housing is the first iteration, and later on they'll probably also add Guild housing if it's popular enough and people like it

Neighborhoods themselves could be dope, since if they do it like FFXIV you can just go through different ones and watch how they've done their places

Also, regarding the "kicking" out someone from a neighborhood I think it should be available for private ones since I could see public ones being abused as many things are

  2. They could easily just add a LARGE portal in the new main city that just connects to a random (or maybe dev selected/awarded) neighborhood that players can just run into and look at.
"This week is X neighborhood whose residents themed their houses for halloween for half-way-to-halloween!" and then there is like a seamless portal where players chilling in the main city can go look. Gives players interested in decorating something to do (even provide full communities where the goal is to be presented). Removes the issue of the cities being empty. A seamless portal would make access to the city and home feel good as well. Then they could also provide a true hearthstone and allow us to have a non-city based hearth. Like we had with Legion Dalaran.

  3. You know it's gonna be bare bones, build a house and then edit a chair a table and some decorations. And it will be abandoned the next expansion like every other new and interesting thing introduced. Copium is strong.

  4. I have a house in FFXIV, and apart from the cool ways you can decorate and glitch items to make an amazing home, which will never be possible in WoW btw, no one actually spends time in their private houses. EVERYBODY hangs at their FC/guild house. The housing regions are instanced and open, so there's also a social aspect with your neighbours.

  5. I think Blizzard should keep an eye out for what RPers in-game already do with toy items and how they will utilize different game spaces to create public events– the addition of the different pop-up tent toys tells me they were paying attention to the marketplace roleplayers.

An important example I would suggest they check out with regards to housing is the nightclub movement on FFXIV– figures like NoaSaitoshii regularly stream on twitch with DJ nights at hotspot housing destinations that were custom designed for the event. They would host DJ nights with themes and invite players to put on transmog for the event and dance while music and lights are blasting from twitch. It's a great experience,

Another example could be walkaround experiences (restaurants, haunted houses, etc.) that are curated experiences players can visit even when the housing hosts are offline. Even better if houses can sorta attach decorations between houses as well, to elongate the collective design of a space– the game Pax Dei's plot system works incredibly well like that.

  6. Blizz will never give one player power over another and it would prob take a GM to move someone being an actual problem in the housing area.
But I would like to see actual achievements you can hang up in our outside your player house for old raids dungeons and gear. It would def give me a reason to go back to the old stuff for other then transmogs.

  7. This might be the moment where blizzard makes world of warcraft into Just chatting, i'm not even sure if this is an MMO anymore. It's almost entirely an instanced based RPG with some MMO elements..
